The owlfish(Pseudobathylagus milleri), Scientifically known by the Pseudobathylagus milleri is a fish known by its large eyes in the deep ocean. Rarely seen, this fish has a remote depp habitat and its owl-like eyes are the exception.

Where are They found?

They are found in the north parts of  Pacific Ocean in depths starting from 500 to 1800 meters(in the mesopelagic and midnight zone).

Appearance And Size Of The Owlfish:

With big large blue eyes as their heads, this fish can reach 16.5 cm in length. The large eyes help capture prey as they are a source of light in the deep helping the fish to attract light through them and hunt in complete darkness.

Diet Of The Owlfish:

They eat anything suiting their mouth from shrimp and small jellies.

-Found at depths reaching 6600 meters.
